Registering Information

The membership agreement below, by which you may register as a member of Shiseido's CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service, includes provisions for dealing with members' personal information (i.e., name and e-mail address). Be sure to read the agreement before submitting your application for registration.

[Membership Agreement for CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service of Shiseido Co., Ltd.]

Article 1 (Definition of CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service of Shiseido Co., Ltd.)

"The CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service" (hereinafter "CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service") is a service of Shiseido Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Shiseido"), providing members with updated information on Shiseido's CSR and environmental activities by e-mail.



Article 2 (Membership)

(1) Members are those who register for "the CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service" using the procedure prescribed by Shiseido, and who are approved by Shiseido.
(2) Members are entitled to receive updated information available from the service.
(3) Members must agree to the terms of this agreement when registering as members. Any member using "the CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service" is deemed to have agreed to the provisions of this agreement.




Article 3 (Handling of Members' Personal Information)

(1) Shiseido promotes appropriate management of personal information under the responsibility of its CSR general manager, who is the chief privacy officer; the CSR Department manages CSR and environmental activities e-mails.
(2) Shiseido will not use the personal information of any member for any purpose other than sending CSR and environmental activities e-mails without a valid reason, or disclose it to any third party without the consent of the member.
(3) In the operation of its CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service, Shiseido will not contract out any operations dealing with members' personal information.
(4) Registering as a member includes disclosing to Shiseido your name and e-mail address by means of the registration form prescribed by Shiseido. Doing so is your choice in the sense that no one is under any obligation to become a member. Of course, if you fail to provide either your name or your e-mail address, you will not be registered as a member.
(5) If a member asks Shiseido to explain or disclose the purpose of using personal information, or to make corrections, additions or deletions, or to stop using or remove information (hereinafter collectively "disclosure, etc."), Shiseido will respond with sincerity to the request in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
(6) Please contact the Customer Information Center below to consult about personal information, to request disclosure, etc., or to make a complaint.

Article 4 (Services for Members)

(1) Shiseido may change the contents of "the CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service", or interrupt or discontinue the service without prior notice to members, at any time. 
(2) Members recognize that systems glitches or other circumstances of a computer may impede the service or cause the service to be interrupted.



Article 5 (Prohibition)

Members may not forward or similarly transmit any e-mail received from Shiseido through "the CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service" to any third party or use it for any secondary purpose, etc.



Article 6 (Resigning Membership)

(1) If a member wishes to cease using "the CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service", the member shall follow the procedures for suspension of distribution (i.e., resignation of membership) given on the appropriate page.
If a member wants to change the e-mail address to which CSR and environmental activities e-mail is sent, the member must resign membership once and then register again using the new e-mail address.
(2) If Shiseido deems any member to be inappropriate as a member, or if delivery errors to a registered e-mail address occur continuously, Shiseido may, without notice to the member in advance, suspend service to the said member and deleted its registered information, thereby canceling the membership.



Article 7 (Compensation for Damage)

Shiseido is not responsible for any damage incurred by any member as a result of the member's use of "the CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service", or by changes to, or interruption or discontinuation, of the service.

Shiseido is not responsible for any damage incurred by any member or third party as a result of the members' use of "the CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service".



Article 8 (Changes to this Agreement)

Shiseido may make changes to this agreement as it deems appropriate. Any such changes will be shown on its website. Any use of "the CSR and Environmental Activities E-Mail Newsletter Service" after a change has been shown on the website will be deemed to constitute the member's acceptance of the change. Any member who does not accept a change should resign its membership.


Supplementary Provision
This agreement is effective from August 31, 2010.
