The Shiseido Art House was built in November 1978 with the aim of preserving precious artworks as well as products and advertising material accumulated since Shiseido's founding. Located adjacent to Shiseido's Kakegawa Factory, approximately 200 kilometers west of Tokyo, the facility contributes to regional development of Kakegawa City by providing high quality art exhibitions and showings of important cultural assets free of charge to the public. In 1992, to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Shiseido's founding, the Shiseido Corporate Museum was opened next to the Shiseido Art House. The facility concentrates on collecting and preserving information on Shiseido, the history of cosmetics and women's fashion, and other important cultural-related material.
