Shiseido's first laboratory was on a floor of the original Shiseido building on the Ginza. In 1939, researchers from various departments throughout the company were brought together to form a research center in Yokohama. Currently the laboratories conduct research in seven fields related to basic research, safety and analysis, innovative products, and skin research.
Work at the Center is based on a vision of "Creative Integration." The aim of creative integration is to combine knowledge and technology to create new values for the twenty-first century. To pursue this goal, the Center has identified three specific goals:
1. Creative integration of function and sensitivity
2. Creative integration in Japan and overseas
3. Creative integration of intelligence and vitality
In terms of scale and quality, the facilities remain unrivaled within the cosmetic industry. |
