Shiseido's total approach to beauty and health has always been a rarity among cosmetic companies. It was with the creation of the Life Sciences Research Laboratory in Yokohama, however, that the company showed the depth of its commitment to research of the entire human body, including the brain and nervous system. Work here focuses on the mechanisms that control and guard the body, using multi-lateral studies based on molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and immunology.
