| In 1989, together with Harvard University, Shiseido established "MGH/Harvard Cutaneous Biology Research Center" at the Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston), and began full-scale research two years later. Going beyond the current medical domain of disease treatment, this Center serves as an industrial-academic complex that focuses on human health science, and promotes interdisciplinary basic research in such areas as skin's aging mechanism. With the participation of the Harvard Medical School core staff as well as the world's leading specialists in biology, cytology, immunology and molecular biology, a total of approximately sixty researchers including Shiseido personnel are now conducting research work at the Center. |
