ハワイの大自然に囲まれる機会に恵まれて、とても嬉しかったです。ハワイ在住だけど、都会にばかりいて、意外と大自然を感じられる場所に行くことが少なくて。すごく癒されました。今回の撮影場所のひとつ、クアロアランチに来たのは初めてで、以前から来たいと思っていたので、来られてよかった！って感じです。夜明けの撮影だったから、久しぶりに朝日も見れて、オレンジの太陽が本当に綺麗で感動しました。
I was so happy to get a chance to be surrounded by Hawaii’s lush nature. I live in Hawaii, but I spend most of my time in the city so I rarely get a chance to visit places where I can experience the natural beauty of the island. It was such a soothing experience. I was so excited that one of the photo shoots was taken at Kualoa Ranch, which is a place I’ve always wanted to visit. The shooting took place at dawn so I got to see the sunrise for the first time in a while, and I was awestruck by the stunning orange glow of the sun.
私のホーム。一番自分らしくいられる場所。自分のルーツを思い出させてくれて、地に足をつかせてくれる場所。
Hawaii is my home. It’s the one place where I can truly be myself. It keeps me grounded and reminds me of my roots.
ハワイ島の緑の多い場所。よく海派？と言われるけど、実は森派です。森が大好きだし、雨も好き。子供の時に、木登りしたり、裸足で走り回ったり、自然とともに育ったから、緑に囲まれるとホッとして落ち着くし癒されます。
I love the places on the Island of Hawaii with lots of greenery. People often ask if I’m an ocean-person, but I’m actually a forest-person. I love the forest and I also like rain. When I was a kid I used to climb trees and run around barefooted. I grew up in nature and that’s why I find it relaxing and soothing to be surrounded by greenery.
すべて。考え方も、生活も・・・・本当にすべて。

もっとも美しいと思うのは、自然。輝いていて、見ていて気持ちいい。人もナチュラルな人を美しいと思います。母の好きな言葉に「人も自然もありのままがいい」というのがあるのですが、私もこの言葉が好き。どんな時でもいつも自然体でいたいと心がけています。
I think nature is the most beautiful thing in the world. It feels good to witness the glow of nature. I also think people are beautiful when they’re natural. One of my mother’s favorite sayings is, “People and nature are most beautiful in their natural form.” This saying is one of my favorites too, and I always strive to be my natural self anytime and anywhere I am.

Jun Hasegawa was born on June 5, 1986 in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. Her family moved to Hawaii when she was two. She works as a cover model mainly for women’s magazines, and appears in many commercials and advertisements. In 2013, she released her first photo book entitled Thankyou sun (Wani Books). She is involved in production work as a creative director and is actively taking on new challenges in other fields.
