宇野亜喜良さんと一緒にサイン会をした時、気づかないうちに上着の袖口を銀色のサインペンで汚していました。しょげていたら、宇野さんがその上から美しい蜥蜴（とかげ）と罌粟（けし）のイラストレーションを描いてくれました。上着が宝物に変わりました。
During an autograph session with Akira Uno, the ink from the silver pen I was using had gotten all over the sleeve of my jacket. I was feeling down about this, but then Mr. Uno took his pen and drew a beautiful lizard and poppy over this area. My jacket was transformed into a treasured item.
歌人。90年歌集『シンジケート』でデビュー。エッセイ、評論、絵本なども手がける。著書に『ラインマーカーズ』『蚊がいる』など。近刊に宇野亞喜良との絵本『ぼくたち』『パラレルワールド御土産帳』『ぼくの短歌ノート』『にょにょにょっ記』がある。
Poet. Debuted in the 90s with his anthology titled Syndicate. He also writes essays, commentary, and picture books. His published works include Line Markers, Ka ga Iru (There’s a Mosquito), and others. Some of his recent works include picture books produced in collaboration with Akira Uno titled Bokutachi (Us), Parallel World Omiyagecho (Parallel World Gift Note), and Nyo Nyo Nyokki.
